Alpaca Stud Males

Bozedown Viscount

Whilst winning the Adult Male Championship at the biggest alpaca show in Europe (The Royal Bath and West 2004) the international judge Dr Julio Sumar remarked of Viscount - “This animal’s conformation and fleece make him a champion”. Indeed this multi-prize winning Accoyo is the complete package: his impressive, strong frame carries an excellent coverage of superior fleece, displaying excellent staple definition, defined crimp and a wonderful brightness combined with fineness. Viscount has inherited his sire’s extreme density (Conquistador is believed to be one of the densest males in Australia). 2005 fleece weight – 5.5kg for nine months growth. Viscount’s fleece is so dense, it cannot be parted by tweaking it with one hand – two hands required to open this boy’s fleece! His testicular development is notable, his bite perfect and he has a manageable temperament. Viscount has been an eye-catcher since winning his first Supreme Championship at nine months old and continues to stand out with his dominant presence and proud carriage. Particular attention is paid to Viscount’s grazing and feed to ensure the correct mineral balance for optimum fertility. We  achieved everything we hoped for with Viscount’s first cria drop at Fowberry Alpacas (2006): all solid colours; strong frames, a couple of cria, the densest (Best Fawn in Show, Royal Show 2007) we have ever bred; some truly lovely fleece characteristics and to top it all he is, over certain females allowing them to dictate colour, so we have an astonishing solid light brown with unbelievable crimp definition.

Date of Birth: 17/12/2001

Viscount’s impeccable breeding includes:

His sire, Jolimont Conquistador (solid white Accoyo), is an enormously influential and sought-after Australian macho whose progeny continue to dominate show rings around Australia and consistently gain the top prices at auctions throughout the country, including the record auction price of $Aus125, 000 for Viscount’s half brother - Jolimont Warrior. Of Conquistador’s 272 offspring to date - 60 % are female. Over a third of the males he has sired (over 18 months of age) have gone on to be registered sires themselves: (Australian Alpaca Association Registry – December 2006).

His Dam, Jolimont Petulia is also a solid white full Accoyo – sire Jolimont Armando and dam – Jolimont Jiacomina. She is currently owned by Bozedown Alpacas.
