Alpaca Fleece Show prize-winningsFowberry Nobility Junior fleece - 15.61 microns, 11 months

268 fleeces at the Scottish National Fleece Show 2010

EPC Top Account was awarded Champion Veteran/Mature Fleece (all colours, 17 entries) in the first class of its type in the biggest fleece show in Europe this year.  With a points score of 82.5 and an astonishing twenty out of twenty for fineness and handle, Top Account would have won the Senior class too. We agree it was brave to enter Top Account's seventh fleece when he has nothing left to prove, but with a 2010 histogram of: 21.57μ, SD4.10μ, CV19.0, 3.1%>30 we were determined to have world fleece expert Cameron Holt judge the quality of his fleece. Very pleasing show results were also achieved by Top Account's progeny (not just our own):

One Champion, two firsts, one second, two thirds, two fourths, one fifth and twJudith Milburn and Cameron Holto sixths.

Most encouraging for us among Top Account's progeny was our little firecracker: Fowberry Nobility, 1st Junior Fawn of twenty-one junior fawn fleeces. Photo above.

Our very special black boy, WD Miguel of Fowberry won Champion Black Fleece out of 20 entries and his only progeny in the show, Fowberry Nell, was 1st Junior grey fleece, with the second highest grey fleece score behind Alpaca Stud Nyetimber.
