Black Female Cria
Fowberry India delivered us a beautiful blue-black girl today, Saturday 5th June. This is the first black female to be born at Fowberry Alpacas for four years and most welcome Pixie is too. Perhaps it is a good thing we don't specialise in breeding blacks. We have had seven black and grey boys over the years, but no black girls and new black sire Miguel is very popular, having sired a spectacular grey girl last year. Because of the extreme heat and humidity today, Pixie was offered and drank 150 mls of electrolytes after she had taken her dam's colostrum. Photos are of Pixie at five hours old.
What breeder doesn't adore seeing females that they bred, going on to give birth themselves and La Luna produced a very striking light brown boy yesterday. We are stunned by the fleece Phoenix is carrying and his chunky, frame. La Luna is the prettiest female we have, by Top Account and Phoenix is by Viscount. Photos of Phoenix at six hours old.
