Advanced Alpaca Course

20th October 2010Naomi at 24 hours old

The course can be a continuation of our very popular Introductory Alpaca course and covers subjects such as alpaca breeding decisions, gestation, birthing, post natal health of cria, growing on and weaning of cria.  Essential equipment for birthing; importance of record keeping.  Giving injections.

Alpaca evaluation with stock evaluation sheet; understanding advanced fleece characteristics and interpreting histograms.

Effective marketing of your alpaca farm in an increasingly competitive market place; alpaca and knitwear sales opportunities. The Fowberry Alpacas website is Google-ranked first equal in the U.K for alpaca breeders and we look at how to design and write web-copy to attract visitors, to inform people and to facilitate sales.

The course should enable the attendee to broaden their knowledge of alpacas and benefit from the extensive experience of birthing; successful nutritional development; prize-winning breeding programme and profitable marketing of alpacas and their produce that Graham and Jenny have undertaken over several years.

Time: 9.30am to 3.30am to include power point presentation; bound notes and lunch. Birth not guaranteed!

Cost: £66 each incl. VAT or £58 each incl. VAT for two bookings.
