The offspring of elite alpacas from EP Cambridge's Royal Herd, EPC TOP ACCOUNT OF FOWBERRY has genetics unique in the U.K. He recorded a micron before importation (May 2006) of:
17.0μ, SD 3.55μ, CV 20.9%, 0% >30μ (Comfort Factor 100%) Third fleece, 26 months.
This is coupled with maximum marks for each fleece characteristic at screening, including an additional five bonus marks for density. (His first fleece at 9 months was 15.2μ, SD 3.3μ CV 21.8). Top Account displays the kind of superlative fleece characteristics uniformly throughout his fleece that we all long to see in our cria: high frequency crimp of nine+ to the inch with notable amplitude on well defined staples; beautiful brightness, yet still, reassuringly and undeniably dense. Undoubtedly a high impact male, Top Account also has good substance of bone on a neat frame with a true to type head.
|
|
 |
 |
|
His sire Jolimont Commisario (SW) is described by EP Cambridge as 'awesome, with supreme Accoyo genetics and density one dreams of'. This top-rated herd sire has a larger than life presence with a striking heavily built and correct frame. He carries a fleece with exceptional character, brightness, extreme density and coverage, coverage, coverage. Commisario was the number one Accoyo male picked for EP Cambridge's 2003/4 import and has repaid that confidence in him by producing carbon copy cria with microns in the mid teens, who are consistently winning in the show ring and winning their sire 'Sire's Progeny' awards as well.

|
His dam Jolimont Verona II (SW) has the appearance of an impressive macho with great presence. One of EP Cambridge's elite females, Verona is beautifully built with heavy bone and soft-rolling-skin on a handsome true to type head. Predictably, she has superior fleece characteristics with excellent coverage and an eighth-fleece micron of 26.4. Verona was imported from a smaller Peruvian estancia committed to breeding superlative alpacas.

BOZEDOWN VISCOUNT
"Serious genetics for serious breeders"
Date of birth: 17.12.2001
Solid White
21.7μ 5.4μ SD fleece - 2004 - 5.5kgs from only 9 months growth
Show Results:
1st Junior White Male BCL National 2002
BCL National Supreme Champion 2002
2nd BAS Fleece Show November 2003
1st Adult White Male - Royal Bath and West 2004
Champion All Colours Adult Male - Royal Bath and West 2004
3rd Fleece competition - Royal Bath and West 2004
2nd* Senior White Male - The Royal Show. (BAS Championship) - 2004
*Second to Bozedown Galaxy - subsequent Supreme Champion 2004.
Viscount, a typical Accoyo, is the complete package; his impressive, strong frame carries an excellent coverage of superior fleece (21.7μ SD 5.4μ - 2004) with real density, while still retaining fineness, good staple definition, defined crimp and a wonderful brightness combined with fineness. Viscount has inherited his sire's extreme density (Conquistador is believed to be one of the densest males in Australia). 2005 fleece weight – 5.5kg for nine months growth. Viscount's fleece is so dense, it cannot be parted by tweaking it with one hand – two hands required to open this boy's fleece! . At the Royal Bath and West (2004), International judge Dr Julio Sumar remarked of Viscount: "this alpaca's conformation and fleece make him a Champion" His testicular development is notable, his bite perfect and he has an even, manageable temperament. Viscount has been an eye-catcher since winning his first Supreme Championship at nine months and continues to stand out with his dominant presence and proud carriage. He was BCL National Supreme Champion in 2002, 1st Adult White Male and Champion Adult Male at the Royal Bath & West in 2004, and came second to Bozedown Galaxy, the eventual Supreme Champion, at the 2004 Royal Show. Particular attention is paid to Viscount's grazing and feed to ensure the correct mineral balance for optimum fertility. He has achieved everything we hoped for with his first cria drop at Fowberry (2006): all solid colours; strong frames, one cria, the densest we have ever bred(Best Fawn Fleece in Show, Royal Show 2007); some truly lovely fleece characteristics and to top it all he is, over certain females allowing them to dictate colour, so we have an astonishing solid light brown as well as the fawns and whites. Viscount's impeccable breeding includes:
His sire Jolimont Conquistador (SW), is an enormously influential and sought-after Australian macho, accepted as the densest male in Australia and whose progeny continue to dominate show rings around Australia, consistently gaining the top prices at auctions throughout the country, including Au$125,000 for Viscount's half brother, Jolimont Warrior. Of his 272 offspring to date, 60% are female. Over a quarter of the males he has sired (18+ months of age) have gone on to be certified/working males themselves: (AAA Registry, December 2006).
His dam Jolimont Petulia is also a solid white full Accoyo; sire Jolimont Armando and dam, Jolimont Jiacomina. She is currently owned by Bozedown Alpacas.

WARRAMUNGA DOWNS MIGUEL

|
Miguel possesses all the qualities one requires from a young black male. He is the result of careful genetic selection, has an impressively black lineage, including the addition of some spectacular genetics from Peruvian Hemingway, ILR NWA Luminosa, Peruvian El Bueno, Kingston Park Paragon and Samaria Valley Saladin to name a few.
Miguel is a well-grown, early-maturing male with notable testicular size for his age; a strong and true-to-type macho with balanced, correct conformation and an excellent substance of bone. His super fine fleece has a luxurious handle, displaying crimp with deep amplitude on well defined, thin staples. He produces an exceptional coverage and weight of fleece and he also inherits the spectacular lustre so essential in any black fleece. This boy has followed in his sire's footsteps by consistently performing in the show ring on his own merit and also winning over white progeny groups (including those by Jolimont Warrior) in the progeny classes with his black half brother.
Miguel's sire: Samaria Valley Saladin is having a huge impact on black genetics in Australia at the moment and being heavily used in embryo transfer programmes. This multi-champion young male won back-to-back best black fleece, at the Australian National Show 2005 and 2006 at the Royal Melbourne 2005 and 2006 and at Bendigo, 2004, 2005 and 2006. His fleece has won ten out of eleven of it's last outings and received some exceptional comments from judges, including "Superior white fleece characteristics, captured in a black fleece." Saladin is a big bold macho with an impressive, correct frame to carry his outstanding fleece on. His progeny are consistently winning in the show ring.
Miguel's dam: Warramunga Downs Ghemma comes from a productive line of prize-winning females going back eight years to Miguel's grand-dam, Warramunga Downs Rebah (Ghemma's dam) winning 1st Intermediate Black at the Royal Melbourne show 1999. This undeniably fine-fleeced female line includes a great-grand dam recording fleece statistics of 25μ, SD 4.0 at nineteen years old!

1st ADULT MALE - SCOTTISH NATIONAL ALPACA SHOW 2005 SUPREME CHAMPION - SCOTTISH NATIONAL ALPACA SHOW 2005
Rocco is Australian breeding at it's very best and there isn't much better than his grandsire Purrumbete Highlander. The legendary Highlander is universally acknowledged as having played a founding role in the improvement of the Australian herd and his progeny continue to improve herds to this day. Rocco is a proven, young macho, with a fine-fleeced Australian lineage. His first fleece (18.50μ) has developed into dense, organised staples of deep crimp, showing an excellent lustre and fineness (22.8μ - 2003). His impressively low SD (3.8μ) and CV (16.7%) demonstrate an enviable uniformity with low medulated fibre content. Rocco's fleece has an impressive, luxurious handle and his 2005 shearing can be viewed. Rocco's conformation is correct and balanced with good substance of bone and neat toes and teeth. He is a kindly, sweet boy. He was Supreme Champion at the Scottish National Alpaca Show 2005. His Sire Windsong Valley Snow Legend was imported from Rural Alianza into Australia with Windsong Valley Royal Inca. Snow Legend was 1st Adult White Male at the Perth Royal in 1998 and went on to be Reserve Champion Adult Male, behind Jolimont Mancini. His sixth fleece returned a micron of 22.4 with an enviably low SD 4.3 and CV 18. He has passed these very desireable fleece characteristics on to Rocco.
His Dam Windsong Valley Faith is sired by Purrumbete Highlander out of Jolimont Olivia II. Olivia holds an impressive seventh fleece at 25.7μ with a low SD of 4.9 and CV of 19.0 which when combined with Highlander's stunning fleece qualities, conformation and density explains Faith's ability to produce progeny like Rocco!

FOWBERRY INCA PRINCE "Quality Colour"
Date of birth: 01.05.2004
Solid Light Brown Third Fleece(2007) 23.87μ SD 5.35μ CV 22.4
Inca is half Accoyo and from top quality Australian bloodlines. He has developed into a stunning macho with a sturdy medium-size frame, stocky, strong legs and a neat attractive head. He has a huge, soft-handling fleece, showing good character and an excellent uniformity of colour. Inca has a manageable sweet temperament and was very easy to halter train. His advanced maturity and testicular size had him working at sixteen and a half months. He is serious about his job and keen to pass on his superior coverage, stocky frame and solid colour consistency to your girls during 2007.
His Sire Wessex Accoyo Fernando (SW, Full Accoyo) is by Purrumbete Ledgers Dream out of Jolimont Brujeria. He was selected from Coricancha alpaca Stud by Alpacas of Wessex for his typical Accoyo traits, and highly desirable fleece characteristics. He is still super-fine at five years old, 20.3μ (2005). He was Supreme Champion Huacaya at the East of England Show 2004 and Mature Champion Huacaya Male at the biggest alpaca show in Europe, The Royal Bath & West 2004.
His Dam Windsong Valley Chenoa (Fleur) (Solid L. Brown), is by Windsong Valley Royal Inca (Alianza) and was 22μ at 2½ years old. Royal Inca is still one of the top-rated males in Australia and a prolific sire of show winners, his progeny having won 24 champion or reserve champion ribbons to date. Royal Inca won the sire's progeny at the Australian National Show in 2002 and 2003 and the Perth Royal Show in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. He won National Show Champion fleece in 1998. Chenoa's dam, Windsong Valley Leandra is dark grey and from top quality coloured stock. This productive female line carries a predisposition to coloured cria and over ten years has produced no whites, whatever colour of sire they are mated to. This even includes dominant white genetics like Purrumbete Highlander, Ledger's Dream and Windsong Valley Ice Man.

GRIFFIN
"True Blue-Black"
Date of birth: 25.06.2002
Solid Black. Fifth Fleece (2007) 26.22μ SD 5.93μ CV 22.6
Griffin If black is what you are looking for, then you can't get any blacker than Griffin. No dark brown between his fore and hind legs, just very very black. Griffin is a young, proven stud male displaying a confident presence and with a reassuringly black and grey ancestry. He has a short, attractive head, solid chunky frame, inheriting a good weight of bone from his sire. Griffin's solid blue-black fleece has no sun-fade, handles beautifully, has defined crimp, little medulated fibre and most important for a jet-black – a shimmering brightness. Actual ringlets hanging from his legs confirm a good length and coverage of fleece throughout. His first female cria (2005) is well conformed and is a solid colour. He comes from a prize-winning family of blacks and was 2nd himself at the BAS National Show in 2004.
His Sire Purston Sebastian (Blue-Black) was 1st Junior Black Male at The BAS National Show in 2000 and has sired 17 cria (to 2005), 10 of whom have been black. In fact Sebastian over a black dam produces black every time. He has a striking heavy boned frame with an excellent coverage of fleece.
His Dam Beechwood Carmen (Dark Grey) is a beautiful, elegant and fertile female who has produced 3 solid coloured cria and 3 greys. Her three male off-spring are all working stud males with her two grey boys producing solid colours and greys, even over white! Carmen's dark grey fleece has an enviable absence of spotting.

STUD SERVICE TERMS and CONDITIONS
Because of our impending relocation to Yorkshire, we cannot accept any visiting females in Northumberland for On Farm Matings (BLUE PRICES). We hope to be in Yorkshire from late Summer. Please contact us to discuss availability.
Fowberry Alpacas will endeavour to provide the very best care for your alpacas visiting our stud males, however visiting alpacas are at their owners risk. Visiting females are housed in their own paddock with a quiet, caring environment. Their care includes any routine husbandry and a comprehensive handover report on departure. The stud service fee includes ten weeks livery and an ultra-sound scan to confirm pregnancy. All veterinary costs will be met by the owner, whom we shall attempt to inform immediately, should any health problems arise. All fees are payable prior to alpacas returning home. Alpacas staying over ten weeks are charged at £7+VAT per week. In the unlikely event that females leave us after ten weeks not pregnant, only agistment charges and veterinary costs (if any) will apply. All visiting females should be healthy and in the correct condition for conceiving; we must be made aware of the current endoparasite and ectoparasite control regimes and vaccination programmes in place well in advance, before we will accept females for mating. All females should be carrying minimal fleece growth and must have been sheared for the 2008 Summer before we will accept them.
At Fowberry Alpacas, we pay particular attention to our males' grazing and nutrition to ensure the correct mineral balance for optimum fertility.
All females for mating, be they Drive By (GREEN PRICES) or Mobile matings (RED PRICES) should be healthy and in the correct condition for conceiving; we must be made aware of the current endoparasite and especially ectoparasite control regimes in place well in advance.
Fowberry Alpacas guarantee a live cria on the ground (24 hrs) or a free return to service. This guarantee applies only to the original purchaser of the Stud Service and is not transferable to another female or owner. The live cria guarantee will be honoured after a post mortem certificate signed by a veterinarian confirms that the loss was not due to avoidable causes. Free return and live cria guarantees cannot be honoured due to the death of the female.
As all alpacas visiting Fowberry are entirely at their owners' risk, so fully insuring each animal is advised. Payment is due by/on the day of mating for Drive By and Mobile Matings, and prior to the return of females for On Farm Matings, unless separate arrangements have been made with us in advance. On advance/group bookings, full payment is due before the half way point in the matings is reached unless separate arrangements have been made with us in advance.
A Mating Contract and female's breeding/recent veterinary history is required to be signed before we can accept females for breeding. For a copy please contact us.
