Late February saw the arrival of Ninbella Harrison, a very striking young fawn male from aristocratic Australian parentage. His lineage includes some really fine fleeced alpacas in ILR PPPeruvian Auzengate, Peruvian Ultimo and Benleigh Golden Flame and also includes some great names in the Australian herdbook – Highlander, Inti, Maid of the Mist and White Flamingo, all from the original Haldane Purrumbete import of 'Venerable Ancestors.'

Harrison has quality stamped right across him, from his correct conformation with substantial weight of bone, to his fine and dense fleece, measuring eight crimps per inch and with excellent coverage right down his legs.  Harry has the uniformity of fawn colouring throughout his fleece that is so difficult to achieve in this colour.
 

May sees the arrival of Warramunga Downs Miguel, again a young solid black stud male with some inspiring genetics and displaying fine fleece characteristics more usually seen in the best whites. His show record, both on his own and with his half brother in progeny classes speak for him and most recently include South Australian Colour Classic 2007, 1st Intermediate Black Male – Supreme Black Huacaya: Wodonga Show 2007, 1st Intermediate Black Male, Reserve Champion Intermediate Male, all colours.
 

During the Autumn of 2008, we hope to continue our alpaca courses with new facilities at our recently acquired farm in North Yorkshire. Purpose-built training facilities offer a warm, light and spacious environment for training within easy reach of outside barns and handling facilities.
 

The Fowberry Alpacas show team performed well again in the 2007 Show Season – they competed in three halter shows, the BAS National, the Northumberland County and the Scottish National at Kelso with fleeces entered in the Royal Fleece Show and the Scottish National Fleece Show.
